As the title indicates, this show will include work that utilizes transparency and/or the building up of layers to create density. The exhibit will include works in a variety of media but as is typical at Abecedarian, will emphasize the book form.
The show will open June 15 and remain on display through July 28, 2012 although I will ask to keep some of the works on consignment after the exhibition closes. There are no fees to either submit or exhibit in this show and artworks are insured for 50% of their retail value while on premises. Roundtrip shipping and insurance costs are the responsibility of the exhibiting artist and all works must be for sale.
If this is something you are interested in, and you will have work it is feasible to ship available during the above dates, let me know no than February 15 and I will send you further details.
Thank you, I look forward to your reply.
all best,
Alicia Bailey

Four Oceans Press - Sketch Book Exchange
I just came across this and thought it might be of some interest:
How it works:
You get a two page spread to create one large drawing or two smaller drawings in a sketchbook.
Record your name and your website if you have one in the back of the book.
Pass the Sketch book on to another artist you know, inform them as to the theme and ask that they
draw their image and then pass the sketch book to the another artist and so on ..........
HOWEVER you are the one that asked for the book and you are the one who should make sure the
sketchbook keeps moving and gets back to Four Ocean Press when it is completed.
This very much reminds me of the 6Sides 2 Every Story that I participated in. It was initiated and co ordinated by Candace Nicol. ( This will take you to a link on my tradigital blog)
image from the 6 sides exhibition in situ
book - mail the sketchbook book back to Four Oceans Press
Four Oceans will scan all images and put them on a permanent archive on their website.
Sketch Books will not be returned.
You can reserve the theme you want to contribute to. It's really just a fun thing to do.
Here are some of the themes : -
A - Animals B - Bathroom - Kathe Welch C - Circus
D - Donuts E - Electric F - Fish - Senol Sak
G - Groups H - Home I - Island
J - Jagged K - Kitchen L - Light
M - Magic N - Nest O - Open
P - Poker Q - Question R - Robots
S - Slippery T - Time U - Underneath
V - Vegetables W - What? X - X-Ray
Y - Yell or Yawn Z - Zap FOUR OCEANS PRESS
